The court is made with wooden floor and front wall is about 5.6m and it is surrounded by two other walls on each side with diagonal red line running separating two parts,During the game the bottom part is consider in and upper part is consider out line.The back wall is made up off solid heavy duty glass.It is half as big as front wall.The front wall was separated in three sectors.Under the bottom line and above the upper line of upper sector is considered outline.The remaining two sectors are considered in.<\/p>\n\n\n\nThe court surface is divided into three boxes: the front half,the back left quarter and back right quarter.Both the back two boxes contain small service boxes to serve the ball. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I have a midnight black squash racquet with luminous yellow lines on it ,it\u2019s my personal favourite it’s called the Ion cannon. Now let me talk about the exciting part about the tournament. My first opponent was a girl named Prisha, I cast a calm glance in her blue eyes. She looked at me and I could see a slight frown on her face. She is a brutal opponent with swift shots. First I started with a casual serve to see how she will return the serve. I looked at the rubber ball seemingly floating in the cold air.Boy! Was I wrong, She responded instinctevely with a vigorous drop shot. Thus she got the point. The game is up to 11 points,so it is usually difficult.This is only one game and we have to play upto 3 sets.She served a lob as I anticipated her to and I returned with a simple drop, watching the buzzing streak as it bounced off the seemingly white wall. She ran to the black blur and boasted it (boast means bouncing the ball of the side wall to the front ball,usually a drop) . I returned with an accurate drop. And earned a point, this pattern kept on repeating for three games (Me winning each game).I faced other opponents but most of them are new to squash and I didn\u2019t take any pride in defeating them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now I faced my hardest challenge , a 12 years old boy named Abhi. I have to use all my skill to face him.\u201dIn my mind I thought of my coach. He was an amazing inspiration and I wanted to win for him and me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I stepped into the bright wooden court, the haze of the large rectangular lights illuminating the court and my opponent. I looked at him nervously, for he was at least a few inches taller than me. A shiver ran down my spine, my toes dug into the soles of my black Nikes.I shook hands with him and wished him good luck, even though I needed it more than him. I served the ball, the powerful shot causing the blurry figure to make a resonating sound that rang in my ears. he replied with a lob, the black entity bounced twice on the hard ground earning him his first point. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He and I kept on alternating the points until it was the last game with the score 11-10. I was leading by one point and if I missed the point it will be almost impossible to win. I served as the ball buzzed through the air like an angry bee, he struck the ball at the low point. I returned with a lob, the sphere cutting through the air with a whistling noise like a knife through butter. He returned with a boast. I struck the ball and boasted it again.He faked a drop but hit a lob instead, the dark sphere flying through the air as fast as a rocket. I fell for this trick and quickly recovered with an almost impossible shot.This shot was to hit the ball off the back wall , exactly hard enough and high enough so that I could snatch the win. But there was one problem,I never successfully hit the ball like this before. All my efforts flash through my eyes. NO! I thought. There is no chance I will give up now. And with all my strength,I struck the ball as hard as possible and \u2026\u2026..AHA I hit the bulls eye. My opponent quickly overcame his shock but it was too late for him to hit the ball now.I bagged my first tournament win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I felt free as a baby bird who learned how to fly. If I could I would blast through the cemented ceiling. At that moment, I realized the childish delight in winning. I ran as fast as I can through the crowd, as fast as me opening presents during Christmas, which is arguably the fastest speed in the whole universe (DEBATABLE). Little did I know that I would win many more tournaments to come.<\/p>\n
